E216 propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, also called propylparaben, is a preservative formerly used against moulds and yeasts. It is no longer authorised for food use in the EU and UK, and its safety grade is RED - UNSAFE because reproductive-toxicity concerns remain unresolved.
